Pat Smith serves as Consulting Partner for Strata Leadership. Pat has had a long and successful career in engineering, leadership, training, and education. He is an award winning engineer, manager, and educator, earning recognition the areas of individual and team performance, community service, and education including the prestigious Gaylord Chair of Distinguished Teaching award.
Pat worked in energy and high-tech sectors prior to starting a career as a professor of engineering at Oklahoma Christian University. He worked for Conoco, Inc. for 11 years as an engineer and manager. Following his time at Conoco he worked at Cisco Systems, Inc. as a senior manager, directing teams of engineers, training customers, and successfully mentoring young managers in their careers. For the last 11 years, Pat has taught engineering at Oklahoma Christian University, while providing professional leadership training and consulting for companies such as OG&E and AAR.
Pat’s mission is to make a difference in the lives of others. He lives that out through building strong mentoring relationships and with an enthusiastic and engaging style.
Pat and his wife, Virginia, were married in 1983 and have two children and five grandchildren. Their son Josh is a physician in the Oklahoma City area and their daughter Kate teaches math and science in Edmond, OK.
