Strata hosts a variety of programs for many different audiences.
When you were in high school, did you have a teacher or a coach who really believed in you? If you did, you know the difference that one person can make in how we view ourselves. If you didn’t, can you imagine how much it would have meant to have someone help guide you through that critical time of life?
There are numerous quality programs to assist students in becoming better athletes, better musicians and better scholars – all of which are useful and enriching. We feel however that students would also respond to the leadership principles taught through Strata Student Leadership programs. In fact, we believe that through the development of their leadership competencies, they are more likely to experience success on the ball field, in the concert hall and in the classroom. With a deeper understanding of themselves and others, we believe their entire educational experience will be enhanced.
Although the curriculum used in Strata programs is educationally sound and substantive, what makes the Strata experience unique is the quality of our consultants. We are seeking to do more than simply transfer information – we are seeking to inspire for a lifetime. To accomplish this, we recruit the highest quality consultants available. While all of our consultants possess the knowledge, experience and skills needed to offer a high quality program, what distinguishes our consultants from many others is their passion for developing young leaders. They have high expectations of the students participating in Strata programs and are genuinely interested in their lives.
While we are always willing to build a customized program for your students, most people find that participating in one of our existing programs is the most convenient and cost effective. Currently the Strata Student Leaders Program consists of two workshops designed to provide your student leaders a challenging and transformational educational experience.
NCSA Student Leaders Program – Working in conjunction with the National Christian School Association (NCSA), Strata provides a 1 ½ day leadership development program for 9-12 grade students enrolled in Christian schools throughout America. Due to the qualifications of our consultants and the rigor of the program, students participating in this weekend program are often eligible to receive one hour of college credit for successfully completing the program.
To accommodate the school calendar, NCSA programs are typically held on Saturdays and Sundays at sites selected due to their proximity to NCSA schools. This format allows students to participate in the leadership development program without having to miss their regular classes.
The cost for the NCSA Student Leaders Program is $75.00 per student. This fee does not include costs for food or lodging. The program is limited to 100-125 participants and is taught by two Strata consultants and is offered 6-8 times per year. If your school would like to host a NCSA Student Leaders Program, please contact Strata’s Managing Director (Wayne Whitesell) to make arrangements.
High Potential Student Leadership Development Program (HPSL) – This program is open to 9-12 grade students who have been recognized as having leadership potential. Offered in twenty locations throughout America each year, this program can be of great benefit to educators, coaches and youth leaders seeking to provide a specialized program for emerging leaders. Imagine how much of an impact a small number of student leaders can make on a school, chorus, band, team or youth group. Through the Strata program, your students will be equipped with practical leadership skills while also being challenged to do the right thing with the right attitude.
From our perspective, a High Potential Student is the type of young person other students look to for guidance. A High Potential Student might be a high achieving scholar, a talented musician or an all-region athlete - however, they may be also be a student who does not make the Honor Roll but is a good listener who leads quietly and behind the scenes. While all students have high potential in life, this program is designed specifically for students who are (or could be) open to the idea of being a student leader.
A team of two Strata consultants teaches this program and the event is limited to 100 students per session. The cost for the program is $75.00 per participant. This fee does not include costs for food or lodging. The program is hosted throughout America 20 times per year. If you would like to host the High Potential Student Leaders program in your town or city, please contact Strata’s Managing Director (Wayne Whitesell) to make arrangements.
Just as with the NCSA Student Leaders Program, participants in the HPSL program are also often eligible to receive one hour of college credit for successfully completing the program. A student who participates in both programs however can only apply one hour of credit on their transcript. Most HPSL programs are offered over the weekend (Friday evening and all day Saturday or all day Saturday and a half-day on Sunday) to better accommodate the school calendar.
