GET TO KNOW NATHAN MELLOR

A thought-leader, two-time TEDx speaker, author, and CEO of Strata Leadership, Dr. Mellor is a highly experienced executive coach who has provided over 3,500 coaching sessions for executive leaders. Since Strata’s founding in 2009, he has worked behind the scenes as a trusted thought partner for leaders seeking to maximize their effectiveness. Dr. Mellor earned the Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership degree from Pepperdine University, where he was a Colleagues Grant recipient. He earned the Master of Dispute Resolution degree from the prestigious Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law, where he was named a Straus Fellow. He earned the Master of Science in Education degree from Harding University while serving as the Graduate Assistant to the University President. He earned the Bachelor of Arts from Harding University, where he was elected Student Association President.

Dr. Mellor began coaching professionally in 2011. Since that time, he has pursued postdoctoral studies through the College of Executive Coaching, where he earned the Advanced Certified Personal and Professional Coach (ACPEC) credential. He also holds the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential through the International Coaching Federation.

As the CEO of Strata, Nathan has worked with a broad range of companies, non-profits, and governmental agencies throughout the United States. Over the past 15 years, he has presented over 500 keynote presentations and training programs. He has provided executive coaching for leaders in automotive, banking, construction, energy, healthcare, higher education, finance, insurance, marketing, manufacturing, and technology.

An educator at heart, Dr. Mellor taught undergraduate and graduate level courses for over 25 years for numerous universities, including Baker University, Harding University, Oklahoma Baptist University, Oklahoma Christian University, Pepperdine University, and York University. Prior to his role with Strata, he served as an administrator at Harding University, Pepperdine University and as an executive at Oklahoma Christian University. In 2021, he co-founded the Center for Leadership & Development at Harding University and launched the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) degree.

In pursuit of educational, humanitarian, and religious interests, Nathan has studied or taught in Australia, Belize, China, England, Guyana, Israel, Jordan, Mexico, Russia, and Rwanda. Beginning in 2024, he joined the Board of Directors of Redlands College in Brisbane, Australia. As an investment in the future, in 2014, Nathan co-founded the Presidential Leadership Institute (PLI). PLI is a week-long leadership program for high school students from across the United States. The program is held on the campus of York University and is hosted in collaboration with Mary Eisenhower and the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum.

Dr. Mellor was recognized in 2018 by the Oklahoma Business Ethics Consortium with the Executive Pilot Award. In 2021, he was named by the Oklahoma Journal Record as one of Oklahoma’s Most Admired CEOs. In 2023, he was named by 405 Business Magazine as one of the 200 most influential individuals in the Oklahoma City Metro.

His book, “Sleeping Giants: Authentic Stories and Insights For Building A Life That Matters,” is available via Monocle Press, Amazon, and Audible. He also hosts the podcast, “The Strata Leadership Show.” Nathan and his wife (Christie) have two daughters and live in Edmond, Oklahoma.
